Kyle Canyon
This is where most people go when they go to
Mount Charleston. The area is lush with aspens and various pines. There are
several established campgrounds in the area for both day and overnight
camping. Most of the full-time residents of Mount Charleston live in Kyle Canyon and live in the villages of Rainbow,
Old Town, Echo Peak and Mummy Mountain. There is quite a lot to do in Kyle
Canyon. The Mount Charleston Hotel has wonderful
rooms and good dining facilities. The hotel is open year round and every
room has a view of the mountain. The Mount Charleston
Lodge and Resort is at the end of the road. The Lodge is a big A-frame
with a bar and restaurant and overlooks Echo Peak and Mummy Mountain. Sit
back and enjoy a Mount Charleston coffee.
They have outside dining, weather permitting. They also have very intimate
cabins that can be rented out. Each one with a view. The Mount
Charleston National Recreational Trail will take you on a ascent to
the top of Charleston Peak. This is a bit of a hearty climb and the summit
is nearly at the 12,000 foot level. There are also several other trails
that take you to places like the seven falls. This is where seven waterfalls
converge in one place.
