Kyle Canyon This is where most people go when they go to Mount Charleston. The area is lush with aspens and various pines. There are several established campgrounds in the area for both day and overnight camping. Most of the full-time residents of Mount Charleston live in Kyle Canyon and live in the villages of Rainbow, Old Town, Echo Peak and Mummy Mountain. There is quite a lot to do in Kyle Canyon. The Mount Charleston Hotel has wonderful rooms and good dining facilities. The hotel is open year round and every room has a view of the mountain. The Mount Charleston Lodge and Resort is at the end of the road. The Lodge is a big A-frame with a bar and restaurant and overlooks Echo Peak and Mummy Mountain. Sit back and enjoy a Mount Charleston coffee. They have outside dining, weather permitting. They also have very intimate cabins that can be rented out. Each one with a view. The Mount Charleston National Recreational Trail will take you on a ascent to the top of Charleston Peak. This is a bit of a hearty climb and the summit is nearly at the 12,000 foot level. There are also several other trails that take you to places like the seven falls. This is where seven waterfalls converge in one place. |
